POSITION DEFINITION:
The Museum Guide is a full-time position reporting to the General Manager at the Wolf Creek Indian Village & Museum. This role is responsible for delivering engaging educational experiences to visitors, maintaining the museum’s facilities and grounds, and supporting the overall operations of the museum.

POSITION DEFINITION:
The Museum Guide is a full-time position reporting to the General Manager at the Wolf Creek Indian Village & Museum. This role is responsible for delivering engaging educational experiences to visitors, maintaining the museum’s facilities and grounds, and supporting the overall operations of the museum.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Visitor Engagement: Conduct guided tours for groups of children and adults, providing informative and engaging presentations about the museum’s exhibits and history.
- Educational Programming: Assist in the development of educational materials and programs. Lead special workshops and activities for students and adults, often in an outdoor setting.
- Facility Maintenance: Perform custodial duties to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the museum building and surrounding grounds. Tasks include vacuuming, sanitizing restrooms, collecting trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces. Prepare spaces for daily operations.
- Physical Requirements: With or without reasonable accommodation, perform frequent lifting, carrying, transporting, loading, and unloading of items up to 100 lbs. Walk long distances in all weather conditions.
- Team Training: Train and mentor part-time guides to ensure consistent, high-quality tours and accurate dissemination of knowledge.
- Operational Support: Assist the General Manager with the upkeep of village displays, village buildings, pathways, signage, and gardens.
- Other Duties: Perform additional related tasks as directed by the General Manager or County Administrator.

EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred Experience: Experience or education in history, arts and crafts, museum education, or teaching is preferred.
- Preferred Experience: Experience working with children.
- Knowledge: Ability to access and utilize resource publications, lesson plans, exhibits, and background materials related to history and museum operations.
