In November of 2013, sheriffs, police chiefs, and other law enforcers from around Virginia joined Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli as he distributed $33 million he took from criminals and is now using it to fund requests from law enforcement for equipment, training and storage.

The funding is available through a grant, in the amount of $178,855.83. Bland County is using the funds to construct a storage building behind the courthouse to properly store evidence, emergency equipment, and more.

In Cuccinelli’s press release, he notes that this money comes from criminals, not the taxpayers in our community.
