The Bland County Board of Supervisors will, on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 5:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as it may be heard, in the main Courtroom of the Bland County Courthouse; Bland, Virginia, conduct a public hearing to receive public comment on amending Sec. 50-76 of the Ordinances of the County of Bland. This proposed action amending Sec. 50-76 will increase the eligibility requirements for exemption pursuant to Va. Code §58.1-3211.1 and §58.1-3212. The governing body of a county, by ordinance, may establish net financial worth or annual income limitations as a condition of eligibility for any exemption or deferral of tax. The proposed action would increase the gross combined income limits of the owners during the year immediately preceding the taxable year from $25,000 to $30,000,and the total combined financial worth of the owners as of December 31 of the year immediately preceding the taxable year from $75,000 to $80,000. This proposed action will bring the limits closer to those of the surrounding localities. 

This Ordinance shall be effective upon passage.
