BLAND COUNTY WELCOMES TRUE BLUE FAMILY PHARMACY
(Bastian, Virginia) – The ribbon was officially cut Tuesday, August 10, 2021, celebrating the opening of True Blue Family Pharmacy in Bland County. The pharmacy officially opens to the public on Wednesday, August 18th, but scores of citizens, business leaders, and local and state representatives were on hand today to get a look at the new store and celebrate its pending opening with owners Matt and Sandra Clarke.
“We were excited to announce True Blue Family Pharmacy was going to locate in our community in April 2021,” stated Supervisor Karen Hodock. “The Clarke’s and their team have worked tirelessly over the past few months to bring pharmaceutical services back to Bland County. All of the county supervisors are eager to not only welcome this new business, but excited to have such a much-needed service available for the citizens of Bland County.”
There was a fabulous turnout from the community in support of the new business ribbon cutting celebration. “We are thankful for the wonderful turnout today and excited to join the great businesses of Bland County and ready to provide prescription and retail services to the patrons in the community,” stated Dr. Sandra Phillippi Clarke, PharmD. “As we stated in April when we started this journey, opening a pharmacy here is an honor. My mother was a pharmacist in Bland County for many years and I worked with her as a technician before pharmacy school. It will be a privilege to follow in her footsteps and provide healthcare service to those she once served.”
“We want to thank everyone for their assistance in getting this project up and running as fast as we did,” stated Matt Clarke, co-owner. Matt continued, “We have completed a lot of work over the past few weeks and while there are a few items to finish, we are excited to be near our opening.”
“Bland County has a strong business community that supports each other, and we are glad there was such a great turnout today. The Economic Development Authority (EDA) welcomes True Blue Family Pharmacy and wish them much success,” stated David Dillow, chair of the Bland County EDA. He continued, “entrepreneurs, such as the Clarkes, provide a strong foundation to any business community and we are pleased to be able to support these endeavors with events such as today.”
