(Bland County, Virginia) – In response to the progression of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), playground facilities, shelters, and parks in Bland County will be closed until further notice. Walking trails at the parks currently remain open. However, users of the walking trails must maintain social distancing guidelines and acknowledge use of the facilities is at their own risk since adequate disinfecting of outdoor spaces cannot be assured. County officials continue to monitor the everchanging COVID-19 emergency event, while maintaining communication with state health and emergency agencies and appreciate the efforts of citizens to reduce exposure and spread of the virus.

County officials continue to advise everyone to keep up with information on COVID-19 by visiting Centers for Disease Control (CDC) https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html and Virginia Department of Health (VDH) http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/ and take the appropriate measures to reduce potential exposure. For questions related to Coronavirus, the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has set up a hotline 877-ASK-VDH3. Please use this number for coronavirus related questions. To inform residents of any local government operational modifications or schedule changes, county officials have launched a COVID-19 Local Government webpage at www.blandcountyva.gov.
